Tenebr is a space built on mutual respect, darkness embraced not weaponised. These rules apply to every interaction on the platform.

Effective date: 1 January 2026. By creating an account you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Tenebr. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 18 we will suspend it immediately and permanently delete all associated data without notice.

Tenebr provides a matchmaking and social platform for adults within gothic and adjacent subcultures. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information. Accounts are non-transferable.

You retain ownership of everything you upload. By posting, you grant Tenebr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You confirm you have the right to use any content you upload and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

If you grant location permission, we collect your GPS coordinates to calculate distances to other users and events. We store only your most recent coordinates. Other users see a rounded distance only — never your precise location. You can stop collection at any time by revoking location permission in your device settings. Your coordinates are deleted when your account is deleted.

Tenebr shows sponsored profile cards in the discovery feed. When you interact with an ad — or one appears on screen — we log the event type (impression, swipe, or message open) against your account. Advertisers receive anonymous aggregate statistics only; your name, photos, and identity are never shared with them. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ad Personalisation. The Verified badge (✦) is awarded by the Tenebr team to notable members of the gothic community — musicians, artists, promoters, and similar figures. It is not a general identity check. Verified status is granted at our sole discretion, is not purchasable, and can be revoked at any time for Terms violations. It does not constitute an endorsement of the person's views or work.

Events listed on Tenebr are curated by our team but organised by third parties. Tenebr is not responsible for the organisation, safety, or cancellation of listed events. Ticket links lead to external websites under their own terms. We make reasonable efforts to list accurate information but cannot guarantee it.

Tenebr facilitates introductions between users. We make no guarantee that use of the platform will result in matches, conversations, relationships, or any other outcome, and we make no representation about the honesty or intentions of other users.

In addition to the Community Rules above, you may not: attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the platform; circumvent security measures or bans; create multiple accounts to evade moderation; solicit money from other users; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We may remove content, suspend, or permanently delete any account at our discretion where we believe these Terms have been breached or where an account poses a risk to other users. You may appeal a suspension by emailing safety@tenebr.app. Private messages may be reviewed by our moderation team solely in the context of a safety investigation following a report.

When you request deletion, your account is immediately removed from the discovery feed and enters a 30-day grace period. Logging back in reactivates it. After 30 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. Reports and moderation records may be retained up to 12 months for safety purposes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tenebr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales, without prejudice to any non-waivable consumer rights in your country of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
